Welcome to the Ryslig peninsula. Torn from the home, friends and life you know, you awaken in this bleak, misty land. How you got here is a mystery- it must've happened in-between blinks. Perhaps you open your eyes on the humble port town of Vandare, where the smell of salt and fish hits your nose. Or perhaps your first sight is the 1980s themed mini mall of Bavan, considered futuristic by local standards, where featureless mannequins swivel their heads to follow your every move. You may awaken in a hospital, a graveyard, dark and humid sewers, at the foot of an impressive mountain range… Each month is different, with no rhyme or reason to where new arrivals seep into this world.

Yes, world. With the rest of the planet inaccessible, shrouded in a fog which drives people to insanity, this peninsula is now as far as you can go. Ryslig will be your prison indefinitely.

You feel an itch deep inside your very being. Something about you has changed. If you were not human before, you will find your new body foreign and weak. Bruises or scratches may have appeared on your flesh, but that is not the cause of your unease. In your wanderings, you find someone who has lived here longer, willing to deliver the bad news.

Within so much as four months' time, that body of yours will twist itself into a monstrous form and you will need to feed.

Ryslig is a panfandom roleplay with body horror and general speculative fiction themes, based on the premise that all arriving characters are slowly transforming into monsters. The characters' development as they deal with the change is the primary focus, although there will be an ongoing plot along with exploration elements as well. At the time, we accept canon characters, canon AUs, and OCs.
